Honestly I thought the pink dress turned out well, but I am OBSESSED with the black floral summer dress I made recently. Again inspired by the 1940s, the slim silhouette meant I didn’t need that much fabric. If you can believe it, I managed to make this dress with just 2m regular width cotton – manage being the operative word bc I had to piece using scraps by the end of it (not that you would know unless I told you). So please, get 3m of fabric if you want to recreate this, but otherwise this is one of my favourite dresses I’ve made to date.
So many of you have been asking for either the pattern or the making0of video, and here is the latter at least (I self-drafted aka eyeballed most of it) but I hope the video will help you recreate something similar if you want. It is quite simple really đŸ™‚
I love love love the fabric, and it is very comfortable to wear as well.
And some stills… I’m currently in the US, and I got to wear this dress to my first ever baseball game last week, as David and I were dressing vintage for the occasion. (Honestly the sunglasses are such a vibe!)
