St. Patrick was an Irish bishop. When he was young he was captured by pirates, who took him to Ireland to work as a herdsman.
After six years he ran away and fled back home. He came to Ireland again as a Christian priest in the mid 5th century and spent 30 years starting churches, monasteries and schools across Ireland.
On March 17 in 461 AD he died.
